Backups

Backups save a copy of your server files so you can go back after a bad update, a broken mod, or a mistake.

Create a backup

Open Backups and press Create backup. Give it a name. You can list files and folders to leave out, such as logs or cache. The backup runs in the background. The server can stay online, but for a consistent copy of a world, stop the server or save the world first.

Limits

Each plan has a limit on how many backups you can keep and may limit their total size. backup limits per plan When you reach the limit you must delete one before you can make another.

Restore

Choose a backup and press Restore. This replaces files on the server with the ones in the backup.

Caution

Stop the server first. Restoring over a running server can corrupt it. Take a new backup of the current state first if you might want to come back to it.

Download

You can download a backup to your own computer. Do this for any backup you cannot afford to lose. A backup stored only on the same system as the server does not protect you from a failure of that system. Our backups are stored off site for 7 days.

Lock

Lock a backup to stop it being deleted by mistake or removed to make room. Unlock it before you delete it.

Automate it

Use a schedule to create backups on a timer.
